Rib Fest Returns to Cheyenne!

The “Big Pigs” are coming back to Cheyenne– The 9th Annual Cheyenne Kiwanis “Rib Fest 2015” will take place at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza, Friday through Sunday, August 14-16. Professional world champion barbecue teams will compete for trophies and cash prizes while offering their specially prepared foods to the public.

This year’s Ribfest will include four rib cooking teams, including two local competitors!

The cooking teams include:

Rasta Joe’s – Rasta Joe’s is considered by many to be one of this country’s top BBQ chefs, Rasta Joe continues to win National Rib Cook-Off competitions from Coast to Coast.

Johnson’s BBQ – “Best BBQ Sauce in Reno, Try your luck with his “Thermal Nuclear BBQ Sauce” you will need to sign a waiver before tasting this sauce.

Mitchell’s BBQ – Mitchell’s BBQ is a Cheyenne local rib cooker. Mitchell’s BBQ is “Bad to the Bone,” and proud to be top pig in Cheyenne since 1999. They were chosen as the Cheyenne Rib Fest People’s Choice in 2013.

Tasty Bones BBQ – Tasty Bones is a Cheyenne ribber selling great BBQ at great prices.

Friday

Hours: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Activities: BBQ ribs, side dishes, Chicago Dogs, Kona Ice, Fuller Funnel Cakes and other delicious treats.

Music: Deja Blu

Saturday

Hours: 11 a.m.–11 p.m.

Activities: More of that delicious BBQ and other tasty treats

Music: Live to Tell

Sunday

Hours: 11–4 p.m.

Activities: Last day to get award winning BBQ; Car Show 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Music: Bandjaxed

Awards Ceremony 3:30 p.m.

The Ribbers competing in Cheyenne are World Champion cooking teams. All have won national barbecue cooking contests and have been featured on national TV and radio. Their award winning foods will be available every day.
