Ribfest Returns to Cheyenne!
The “Big Pigs” are coming back!
Cheyenne – The 5th Annual Cheyenne Kiwanis “Ribfest 2011” will take place at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 19-21st. Professional world champion barbecue teams will compete for trophies and cash prizes while offering their specially prepared foods to the public.
The champion cooking teams include:
Desperado’s BBQ, -“Lick My Ribs” & “Best Ribs” Cheyenne Ribfest 2007 & 2008.
Aussum Aussies, BBQ, -“BBQ from down under” & “Shrimp on the Barbie”. “Best Ribs” Cheyenne Ribfest 2009 & 2010”.
Johnson’s BBQ, “Best BBQ Sauce in Reno, Try your luck with his “Thermal Nuclear BBQ Sauce” you will need to sign a waiver before tasting this sauce.
This years NEW Pig on the block is Big-show Barbecue Co. they hail from Kansas City, MO one of the most famous barbecue towns in america.. Big Show now has awards from OH, IL, PA, IA, NC, MI, WY, CA, NH, MA and isn’t stopping yet.
Friday’s hours: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm and Activities: BBQ Ribs, Side Dishes, Roasted Corn, Cobbler and other delicious treats. Music: 6:30 – 8:30 pm and 9:00-11:00 pm
Saturday’s hours: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm and Activities: More of that delicious BBQ and other tasty treats; . Join UW Men’s Basketball coach Larry Shyatt and his assistants in a special luncheon $20 in advance $25 at the door tickets available at Nieman Music, Bouquets Unlimited and Wyoming Trophy and Engraving. Entertainment: 4:00 – 6:00 pm – 6:30 – 8:30 and 9:00 – 11:00 PM.
Sunday’s hours : 11:00 – 4:00 pm and Activities: Last day to get award winning BBQ; Car Show 11:00-4:00 pm Entertainment: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm; 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Awards Ceremony 3:30 pm.

The Ribber’s competing in Cheyenne are World Champion cooking teams. All have won national barbecue cooking contests and have been featured on national TV and radio. Their award winning foods will be available every day.
